At the start of the game, the player is given a total of 8 cars to choose from for competing in the race. The goal is to complete the lap in minimum time.

The plot of the game is similar to a movie of the same name, that released in 1993. The player assumes the role of a cyborg police officer who challenges a big corporation, which is trying to tear down the American city of Detroit to build a new one called Delta city. The gamer is required to reach the winner point within the stipulated timeframe. There are many other obstacles laid on the road while driving the car in the form of blocks and hits. The player is required to cover 20 different levels, having different difficulties laid throughout each.
