Rockstar North, formerly known as DMA Design, was founded in 1988 by David Jones, Russell Kay, and Mike Dailly in Dundee, Scotland. The name DMA was taken from the Amiga programming manuals, where it stood for "Direct Memory Access". DMA Design was most known for developing Lemmings and early Grand Theft Auto games.

Description
GTA is an action game based on the crime. It is released in 1997 for DOS, Windows, and PlayStation. In this game, a player takes the role of a small criminal who is trying to become bigger by killing people, stealing cars from the road. He also works for the gangsters. By doing his antisocial activities he will get success. In the game, you will get three different cities based on the real US city where you have to commit the crime. You will get six different levels in the game. You have to commit crime brilliantly so that you don’t come in the eye of the police. As much as you will do crimes, you will proceed in the game faster.
For crossing the level you have to increase points and as much as you steal the cars and crush the traffic your score will increase. Killing pedestrians and cops will increase your score very fast. You will be given different tasks in the game like supporting bank robberies and doing the assassination. Completing each mission will increase your points very fast. You will get a wanted level if a policeman sees you committing a crime, then your wanted level will increase and more police will chase you, but at minimum wanted level only a police van will be behind you. If police are behind you, then the only way to scape is to get a new look and a new license which costs money. The money will be deducted from your score point.
In GTA all the action is viewed from the top down perspective. The Graphic used in the game is very advance and sound effect is also impressive.
