Civilization

Sid Meier's Civilization is a turn-based strategy computer game created by Sid Meier for MicroProse in 1991.The game's objective is "...to build an empire that would stand the test of time". The game begins in 4000 BC, and the players attempt to expand and develop their empires through the ages until modern and near-future times. It is also known simply as Civilization.

Originally started in 1982 by industry legends Sid Meier and Bill Stealey, Microprose became known throughout the video game industry as a cutting edge computer game designer and publisher. Focusing primarily on high tech military and strategy simulations, the company eventually merged with Spectrum HoloByte by the 1990’s. After going through a series of further changes in ownership, the name and its legacy was wiped out by Infogrames in 2001.

  9/29/2017 2:06:00 PM - Victor Ward deener - Build the Colossus as quickly as you can, trade is the key to getting the tax / science balance right. Build caravans and send them to foreign cities, capitals if possible for increased trade. Caravans can also be used to build Wonders in your own cites faster, if you can stockpile caravans for later use.
  7/13/2017 5:14:00 AM - deneer ya i did that too. dropped tax rate to zero. great library. and libraries. but by the time AD rolls around...my tax rate is so high like at 60percent and up to maintain all the costs with a despotism govt. but when i switch to republic...i get all these errors that i can't maintain military units and they end up getting disbanded and then corruption in the city begins. what am i doing wrong...?

  7/13/2016 1:04:00 AM - old civ guy Ah, the memories. Got to love the Phalanx that can kill your battleship! Bought & play Civ 1-5 as they came out. Civ 2 ToT, my favorite though.
  6/10/2016 12:05:00 AM - Warlord the emulator works on Windows 10 just Play NOW (ClickOnce). a few bugs but they can be avoided if you save/load less & play a smaller map. Is it just me or are Russians, Zulus always attackers but Ghandi can be a jerk too! Happy gaming
