Description
The game Iznogoud (1987) was developed by Infogrames. This is indeed a game based on the popular French comic strip character Iznogoud, created by René Goscinny
and Jean Tabary.
It's primarily a platformer or action-adventure game. Some sources might classify it as an arcade adventure.
The game is based on the Iznogoud comic series, where the titular Grand Vizier Iznogoud constantly schemes to become Caliph in place of Haroun El Poussah,
usually with disastrous and comical results for himself.
Players control Iznogoud. The game features various levels, often inspired by the comic's settings (e.g., the Caliph's palace, Baghdad streets). Iznogoud navigates
these environments, typically jumping, avoiding traps, solving simple puzzles, and interacting with objects or characters. His goal is to thwart the Caliph
or achieve his ambition, often by collecting specific items or reaching certain locations. The game's humor often derives from the misfortunes that befall Iznogoud,
reflecting the comic's tone.
