    Description
Guardians is a puzzle game with a Sci-fi and futuristic theme. It was released in 1991 on DOS, Amstrad CPC,
and the Atari ST platforms. To play the game, the player needs to put the blocks of the same color together
to make them disappear. The player needs to be extremely fast while arranging the blocks to keep them from
piling up. The blocks come in five colors that can be freely moved around in the area. There are some blocks
that can be fused with any of the colors. Also, the player is required to contain the balls of energy, also
known as Triffids. The game is played over two plains, the upper plain is where the player has to build walls,
and the lower plane has the Triffids bouncing up and down. The player needs to ensure that the blocks are not
obstructing the Triffids, in which case the game is lost and the player gets awarded minus points.

When more than two blocks of the same color come together, they are fused together and become immobile.

This event is called a Cohesion. The objective of each goal is to accumulate points by creating cohesions within
a certain time limit.

The difficulty level of Guardians is on the higher side, compared to other puzzle games of the genre such as Tetris
and Origamo. The game gets too complicated at times due to the additional challenges like holes on which to make
the titles and a patterned board for each level. The graphics and designs compensate for the complexity to a certain
extent, however, this game is more suited to seasoned puzzle gamers.
