Desert Strike - Return to the Gulf
Desert Strike - Return to the Gulf is first of the Strike game series. Kilbaba a self-declared general has taken over the Arab Emirates one year past Gulf War. He threatens the start of World War 3 against the US. You get chosen to take down Kilbaba before he starts a nuclear war.
You get to direct an Apache AH-64A on a bunch of missions to rescue certain people and destroy missiles and power plants set to harm the US. This gives you a birds-eye view of the battlefield. You need to eliminate the enemy while finding out about what Kibaba plans to do.
In Desert Strike - Return to the Gulf, the Apache has three different type of weapons, missiles of two different types and a machine gun. Be aware of guns that can destroy the aircraft from the ground and also take care to makes sure that the fuel does not run out. You will also blow up if the Apache's armor strength gets depleted.
To take out the enemy defense while trying to find out Kilbaba's plans and to rescue missing in action characters, blow apart SCUD missiles, destroy power plants etc., you must fly a specially designed AH 64A Apache on a series of missions. The plot actually mixes in some real-life events of the world and many real characters of the Gulf War. For playability, the gameplay is sophisticated and well implemented.
