Sudoku World Championships
Since 2006, the International Puzzle Sports Federation has begun holding regular world championships in Sudoku. The first World Championship was held in the Italian city of Lucca, and the representative of the Czech Republic, Yana Tilova, became the first champion.
The first record-breaker for a Sudoku solving was the Belgian Vincent Bertrand. He spent 3 minutes 6 seconds on the solution. This result was recorded in 2009 at the IV World Sudoku Championship in Slovakia and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
However, in June 2010 in the Czech Republic, his record was broken three times. In the first round of the local championship, Yakub Ondroshek immediately set a new world record - 1 minute 25 seconds.
