Description

Welcome aboard. Star Control II will take you on a far journey, a space odyssey encompassing the realms of science-fiction and role-playing. This epic adventure spans hundreds of light years, and evokes a history reaching back over 250,000 years. As you travel out among the stars, your decisions and actions will directly affect the destiny of 18 intelligent, star-faring species, including the inhabitants of Earth. Star Control II is only in part a sequel to Star Control, which focused exclusively on the strategy and tactics of the bitter Ur-Quan Slave War (known by the philosophical as the Great Crucible of Sentience). You need not have played the first game to enjoy this one. However, if you have never fought a Star Control space battle, you may wish to practice with the SuperMelee game before facing enemy forces. The evil aliens you will encounter are adept at the art of war, and unforgiving of weakness. The history that follows details the critical involvement of Earth in the conflict between the Alliance of Free Stars and the villainous Ur-Quan Hierarchy. Study what happened, learn from the mistakes of those that went before. Only in this way will you be prepared for the mystery, the intrigue and the blazing action of Star Control II.

12/4/2012 8:56:00 AM - George I totally agree, there is not a better game than D&D. Unfortunately the rules have the degradation tendency since the 3rd edition. Even since the 3rd edition balanced the classes a bit and removed some ultimate character combos ;-) As for my concern the good D&D games died slowly starting the 3rd edition. They are even so good, they don't even require any graphics at all ;-)
12/4/2012 8:31:00 AM - argentrolf I can explain why new games cant match the older ones... three letters; A. D. D. kids today cant sit still long enough to enjoy anything as rich as the oldies. If they dont have to have 1/32 reflexes for it, they dont want it... if they have to think, so much worse... thats why d&d 4th is so inline... its idiot-proofed
6/29/2012 2:26:00 PM - Steven i love this game. it takes you away from the daily life and was designed in a way that you may play it however you like and take your time doing so. No rush, there is always a method to win the game as long as you play it. it's so complex that even some walkthrough get some planets names wrong. I'ts old school, though i would love to see someone take this game and say.... Add a whole new map to the existing one and more ships etc. you get the point. Thank you for giving me the chance to enjoy it on your site.
5/15/2012 7:42:00 PM - JJ I grew up playing stuff like this awesome game, Master of Magic, and X-Com. They do not make games like they used to, these classics are still better than most of the garbage they over charge us for these days!
11/21/2011 7:21:00 AM - Ehud I wonder what the music says when you play it backwards.
11/21/2011 5:04:00 AM - Ehud Sometimes I wonder why new games cannot match the simple and deep fun of this type of game. Complexity and graphics do not a great game make.
9/25/2011 11:42:00 AM - Vins Interesting ^^
9/18/2011 1:51:00 PM - Michael This is quite possibly, the best old game ever
