Atari Games Corporation was a subsidiary of Time Warner Communications. It was founded in 1985 after Time Warner sold the console and computer divisions of Atari, Inc. (which continued operations as Atari Corporation). Atari Games Corporation kept Atari's arcade business. Warner Communications sold off its controlling interest to Namco in 1985 (which were bought back by Atari employees in 1986). At this time, the company founded Tengen, Inc. to get foot into the console market. Time Warner bought the controlling interest back in 1993 and made the company a subsidiary of Time Warner Interactive, Inc.. In 1996 it was sold to WMS Industries which made it a subsidiary or Midway Games, Inc. and renamed it to Midway Games West, Inc. in 1999. It remained in the arcade business until 2001 and was closed in 2003. However, the entity was not dissolved until 2013 (and, along with the rest of Midway, became property of Warner Bros. Entertainment in 2009).

Description

Who doesn’t wish to someday don the role of a pirate and safeguard the sea coast? Skull Crossbones offers all the pirate fans to wear the hat of pirates and set on a mission to find the lost treasure. The game can be played either as one or two players. The player one is called one-eyed and player two is the Red Dog. The player is on the mission to get back their lost treasure and find the wizard who has stolen it. The game is played in six levels, each comprising of different hardships. The levels can be played together in one sequence or else in different stages. After the completion of all the six levels, the player will encounter the wizard himself and free his treasure out of his clutches. Both the players look similar, and when playing in multi-player mode, before encountering the wizard, both the players will have to battle each other to showcase their prowess. The player is provided with certain advantages such as after the completion of each quarter, a score of 50 points would be added to the kitty of the player. Beware to complete the game within the stipulated time frame or get ready to lose a life and start afresh. Skull Crossbones is all about how vigilant and smart one can be to complete the levels with competence before the hourglass turns empty. Gripping plot and adventures will surely raise the level of adrenaline. Just Get Set and Go!
