Free Bingo for my Grandma!

In the current pandemic situation, my grandma is grounded at home watching TV, scared from Corona and just going out to a nearby shop fully equipped with protections like an astronaut. She is quite sad cause she can’t go to play Bingo or cards with her friends anymore. I remember in my early years playing card games with her and having so much fun, that now I feel a bit miserable for not paying her the attention she needs. I felt I wanted to do something like in Macklemore’s video:

So, I bought her a tablet and tried to teach her how to do the online shopping, silly me, she thought it was way too much complex than grabbing her protection equipment and going to the shop. But then I explained her she could use it also for chatting with her friends, or even play cards with them. Unfortunately, her friends don’t have such an awesome grandson as me. So, they were not familiar with online games. I found on internet some Spanish casino site offering some free online bingo, pretty fast, no download required, and she was amazed playing bingo for like 30 minutes.

She was so excited she wanted to click on all the Casino buttons and ads, I explained her that game was from a Casino Online page, who offered the free game, but their real intention is you to deposit and play bingo online for real money. Even though she was quite excited of living the real bingo experience again, I warned her it was quite risky, since those online casinos can take your money quickly 24/7.

Freeware better than Online Bingo

So I went through several free apps of Cards and Bingo in Google Playstore, but apparently new games are a bit too complex for her, and especially those free games a bunch of ads, which require you to find that always hidden bloody X. I started thinking of abandoned ware with cards and I remembered that time of an old videogame done by Sierra called Hoyle Official Book of Games,

very simple mechanics, no real money, she can even choose her character, I checked and it was compatible with the tablet, so I downloaded for her, made an easy access on the desktop and ready… hours of fun.

And that’s it… I have a happy grandma now, maybe on my next visit I will download and teach her how to play Domino (on the Volume II of the same game) or even Tetris
