Paragon Software Corporation, based in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1985 by Mark E. Seremet and F. J. Lennon. The company's biggest successes were titles based on licenses from Marvel Comics and Game Designers' Workshop. Paragon had a long relationship with MicroProse Software, who had distributed their games since at least 1988. MicroProse acquired Paragon outright in July, 1992. As part of MicroProse, the Paragon team developed Challenge of the Five Realms and BloodNet. Soon after, many of the former Paragon principals moved on to co-found or work for Take-Two Interactive, and what was once Paragon ceased to exist.

One more sci-fi series of video games, Space 1889 brings in the science fiction genre once again back to the pavilion adding a new streak to it. The game is set in an alternate period of history, which showcases how the inventions done by some of the greatest scientists like Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein. The invention of Thomas Edison which is an ether propeller which makes travel to outer planets possible is misused by some of the great powers in the world to build their colonies in other planets. The planets of Venus and Mars is colonized by the superpowers such as United Kingdom, Russia, France, and Germany while Mars is colonized by Belgium and Venus by Italy. Other countries like Japan and United states have their power dominated in Mars. The only planet left from getting colonized is Moon. Different planets have different mysteries, treasures as well as Flora and Fauna hidden in them. The centre of this game is to strategically imperialize the planets and set your domain in them. Providing ultimate delight for players to fight like the Martians to safeguard their planet and imperialize the fellow planets in the most strategic way, Space 1889 is a one-stop destination where role-playing meets intelligence. The game has received positive reviews from gamers all across for its different concepts, leaving an open arena for players to choose their biases as well as making their work their brain to expand their territory to outer space using scientific inventions.
