Description
Developer/Publisher is PLBM Games (founded by Kurt W. Dekker).
The game is a tribute to classic 1980s and early 1990s shooters.
You pilot an aircraft (your "Island Hopper") and move through a vertically scrolling environment. The goal is to shoot anything that moves (enemy aircraft) as you
progress deeper into enemy territory. Players collect various power-ups to enhance their fighting performance, including faster guns.
The difficulty increases with faster and more complex enemies and terrain.
The game features three complete episodes:
Episode 1 - South Pacifica: features tropical islands.
Episode 2 - Aleutian Atolls: features snow-covered landscapes.
Episode 3 - Isles of Peril: features dark, desolate "badland-covered islands."
Episodes 2 and 3 typically contained more enemy types and new weapon systems and were available only upon registration of the full version.
If all your aircraft are destroyed, it's "Game Over," though you might get a chance to restart from the point of death with your score reset.
