The Arcade Game is an old DOS game released by Acclaim Entertainment in 1996. The size of this action game is 7.9 MB. The game can be played in one-player and two-player mode. In one-player mode, you can control either Batman or Robin, while in the two-player mode you control both. All you have to do is kill Robinin Gotham City with kicks, punches and some special weapons you get to choose as you move from screen to screen. While normal enemies die in a few hits, the villain in this game requires 15 to 20 seconds of relentless kicks and punches to give up the ghost.
The game has eight excruciating levels and as you level up you will come across power-ups, traps and secret passages. To make the game more captivating as you level up, the advancement past obstacles get a little tacky. It requires you to figure out which special tools have to be used to get past the obstacles. If you know all the keyboard shortcuts and tricks, then you have an upper hand in the game.
Though the game has a blockbuster name of a movie franchise, the actions get into yawn-inducing feels on advancing. Batman or Robin cannot run in this game, all they can do is steady power-walk! The looks and sounds of the game are bearable but the character animation is jerky and unconvincing. The sounds are typically like in any movie games- with irritating quotes that are overplayed along with other usual sound effects. The actions are simply the same as other age-old videogames like FinalFight, Double Dragon or Streets of Rage. On beating up the villains, they fall on floor, blinks and then vanish. There are not much of new actions in this game, making it an uninspiring game.
