Description
Tubular Worlds is a solid and enjoyable arcade blast that really deserved much more exposure than it got amongst Amiga gamers.
The lush 256 colour AGA graphics are superb and the quality of the gameplay is outstanding when played by two players simultancously.
As the original game was hard disk installable, porting it over to the CD32 was relatively simple. This revised CD version has been
futher enhanced by StingRay {Scarab/Scoopex} to allow players to enter their hi-score via joypad, meaning that the game can now be
played on a standard CD32 console without a keyboard. In addition to this, hi-scores are also saved to the CD32 NVRAM.
Players control a spaceship flying from left to right. The objective is to shoot down numerous and varied enemies while collecting power-ups
for your weapons. The gameplay is often compared to classic shmups like "R-Type." The game is divided into four distinct worlds, each containing
four stages and ending with a boss fight. It features three difficulty levels. The game can be played by one or two players simultaneously.
In two-player mode, each player uses a different input device (e.g., one on keyboard, one on mouse or joystick). A single hit from an enemy
projectile will destroy your ship and you'll lose all collected weapons. You start with three lives, with extra lives obtainable by finding
them in the game or collecting 100 dropped pellets from defeated enemies.
