Gamtech Software was founded in 1987 by Doug Gamble, when the first two Commodore 64/128 shareware titles were released: Oakflat Nuclear Reactor Simulator and The Number Machine. In 1992 both the games were released for DOS platform and a few years later Oakflat Nuclear Reactor Simulator was ported to the Windows platform. In recent years the company has focused on encryption software and GUI enhancements.

Description

The Oakflat nuclear power plant simulator is an old video game which was released in the year 1988. The simulation game features real-time pacing. The game comprises of managerial and business simulation. The Oakflat nuclear power plant simulator can be played by a single player only.
Manage the nuclear power plant
In the shareware game, the player takes command over the nuclear power station. The task of the game is to carry out a stable reaction and create electricity by manipulating the control rods and the secondary and primary cooling pumps. After every attempt which the player makes to generate electricity, the player is provided a score which is based on the duration for which the reactor was working and the amount of power generated by the reaction in the nuclear power plant.
Developments in the game
The power plant has been working for several years. With the passing of time, the complexity of the power plant has increased and matured. Now, the power plant is able to face several natural phenomenons such as flood, earthquake and other disasters. Along with this, the controls of the power plant have advanced and features functions for carrying out self-testing.
The latest release for windows is manufactured to stimulate a light-water reactor with a pressure of about 1.5 GWe. The reactor can be operated by a mouse or a keyboard or via both to control the settings of the rod, damage control, Rates of coolant pump, reactor scrams, and several other things. Along with this, the game maintains a record of everything so that the player can go through the logs and find the outcome of his actions and take a better decision in the future.
