The Interceptor is a shooting game with a Sci-Fi theme. It was published by the Doka, AO in 1993. The game language is Russian.
The Interceptor features a large group of hostile aliens who are hovering over the city in their UFOs and dropping bombs.
They have a strong disliking of the earth and it's infrastructure, and are determined to destroy it. However, there is one object
that stands between the earth and the Aliens' vicious plans, and that is the Interceptor. The Interceptor is a flying vessel
equipped with all the weapons necessary to destroy the UFOs, such as rockets and guns and fire shells. At each level of the game,
the player is tasked with freeing a different city of these Alien attacks, while saving the interceptors from direct hits from
the UFOs. However, the major threat comes from two powerful weapons possessed by the Aliens- Fusion bombs can destroy the Interceptor,
along with any other air-borne objects and nukes, which can instantly raze a city to the ground. To win a level, the player must
destroy all the UFOs, using a limited amount of ammunition. With each enemy vessel destroyed, the player is awarded points, but there
is also a penalty for each earthly object destroyed by the UFOs. Hence the goal is not only to destroy the Alien ships but also to
protect as many earthly objects as possible. There are landing pads available where the Interceptor can get reinforcements and any
damages to the vessel can be repaired.
