British company famous for unique action/puzzle games such as Vaxine, The Assembly Line was also famous for excellent programming that was technically much more competent than most of its contemporaries. Its games were always very smooth, eminently playable, and pushes the capabilities of yesterday's computers to their limits. Although better known in the Commodore 64 and later Amiga circle, many of their games have also been ported to the PC and achieved modest success. Most of their games were published by US Gold.

Description
Pipe Dream (originally released as Pipe Mania in the UK) is a stone-cold classic of the puzzle genre. Released for DOS in 1989 and published in the US by Lucasfilm Games,
it is one of the most stressful yet satisfying "panic-puzzles" ever made. If you’ve ever played the hacking minigame in BioShock, you’ve played a modern version of Pipe Dream.
Your objective is to build a continuous pipeline from a starting point (the source) to conduct a mysterious green liquid called "Flooz." You have a few seconds of lead time
to start placing pipes before the Flooz begins to flow. Each level has a "distance requirement." You must make the pipe long enough (e.g., 15 segments) to progress to the
next stage. If the Flooz leaks out of an open end before you hit that length, it’s Game Over.
You don't get to pick which pipe shape you want. You are given a "queue" of upcoming pieces (straight, elbows, and crosses) and must place them on a grid. You can place a
new pipe over an existing one to fix a mistake, but it costs you points and takes a second to "clear," which can be fatal if the Flooz is moving fast.
The "Cross" piece is the holy grail. If you can make the Flooz pass through the same tile twice (once horizontally and once vertically), you get a massive point bonus.
Once you are confident your pipe is long enough, you can hit a button to make the Flooz flow at maximum speed to finish the level faster and earn "Fast-Flow" bonus points.
