Developed by Platinumware, LexiCross is a TV Simulation Puzzle solving game. It is an arcade word-puzzle game with a futuristic outlook and impressive use of graphics in 8-bit color combination. The player has to compete with another player or an alien or a robot to solve as many words as possible in a tile-matrix from the already flipped tiles. The flipped tiles show certain letters and the player has to predict the remaining letters to forms words. There is a meter which counts the number of points scored by the player. LexiCross offers 600 puzzles so it is definitely addictive yet the game helps boost the English vocabulary of the player.
The sci-fi setting of the game sets it apart from other word puzzle games as it creates a visual personification of the competitor. Lexi-Cross has many competitors but none of them imagined a futuristic setting to beautifully define the objectives. The popularity of this game earned it the 132nd rank in the ‘150 Best games of All Time’ list in 1996. The game is humorous and lightens the mood with a clever selection of names of opponents. Some of the names are popular names spelled backward and some of the references can be linked to certain known names as well. There is no day when LexiCross runs out of surprises. This game is built to cherish lifelong.
