Description
Published in the year 1992, the game The Island of Dr. Brain was developed by Sierra On-line. It is sequel to the previously much loved Castle of Dr. Brain.
Much like in the previous version of the game players have to play as the doctor’s apprentice(lab assistant). In The Island of Dr. Brain, one of the oldest rivals of the doctor stole blueprints of one of the experiments of the doctor. Along with the blueprints, a battery that was created by the doctor himself also gets stolen away. The aim of the game is to help the doctor find those blueprints and the battery.
Dr Theddius Egghead Brain and the player then takes on a journey throughout the planes as they come across different hurdles. The towers of Hanoi is among the first places he visits. Then he has to deal with a herd of flamingos in the beach. Then comes the mountain trail that takes them to the Botanical garden which also has a very deeply embedded zoological aspect. He has to complete tasks even inside the volcano and then solve language puzzles in the village of the robots.
The game The Island of Dr. Brain is mainly an adventure but educational game that is a very interesting way of learning new cool things for kids. It is a first person/third person game released for DOS.
