Hilfe für Amajambere is an educational game based on an ecological theme. The game was released in Germany in 1995 and runs on the DOS platform. HILFE FÜR AMAJAMBERE translates to Help for Amajambere.
The game is set in the Region of Amajambere in the African country of Ubuntaka. The villages are dealing with famine due to heavy rains and scorching heat during the growth period. The people are only left with two choices- Abandon the village or die of hunger. The prospect of a mass migration invokes panic in the government and to curb the situation they collaborate with the Federal Republic of Germany. Together, they start a project to educate the people of Amajambere on multi-level plant cultivation to increase the quality of the harvest and reduce the impact of hostile environments. However, this project is met with stiff resistance from the villagers for unknown reasons. Certain unscrupulous elements are threatening the efficacy of the project by misguiding the villagers. The area is also dealing with the serious problem of seed theft. To convince the villagers, the supervisors send Paul Lerche who is a German national and an expert on multi-level cultivation. Paul is welcomed by the Village chief Kalala, who helps him to organize a meeting with the villagers. During the meeting, Paul conveys the many benefits of the project to the villagers but also comes to know about the reasons for their apprehensions. As the game progresses, Paul moves from place to place, collecting objects and trying to piece them together to find solutions to the many problems. There are also puzzles to solve and multiple-choice questions to answer.
