Heirs to the Throne
Made by the German design group, Heirs to the Throne was launched in 1994. This game is a strategy game. The plot includes many characters who have certain attributes and fight for the throne and the player has to defeat other heirs by conquering and gaining wealth. Basically, it is the rudimentary version of age of empire computer version. The player has to build villages, army, and attack. In turn the player gains resources. The player has to keep gaining kingdoms and beat other three players from getting to the throne. The game has a lot of adjustability options which makes it fun to play repeatedly. The game is all about beating the opponents into submission by conquering their land and wealth. The graphics are not worth it because if we look at strategy command and conquer games launched in this period, the graphics in many games were much better and included some kind of animation. Heirs to the Throne runs on DOS, WIN system but functions better in DOSBox. This game really loses out to its peers because it has not much to offer. Its sound is heroic music, which is good but the graphics don’t stand out and there is not much strategy either to explore. For beginners looking to explore the 90’s games, Heirs to the Throne is a good place to start.
