Hariboy's Quest

Hariboy's Quest is an adventure game with a fantasy theme. It was developed by Condor Software for the promotion of Haribo candy. The game was released in 1996 in several European countries and runs on the DOS platform.
The protagonist in the game is a child named Hariboy. One day, Hariboy gets transported to the magical world of Bonbonia through a painting in his room. On reaching the strange land, he discovers that the formula for his favourite candy Haribo has been destroyed by an evil dragon. However, there are three copies of the recipe hidden among ancient documents and spread across three different time periods: Medieval, Ancient Roman, and the Wild West of eighteenth-century America. Hariboy must retrieve all three copied of the recipe to save the beloved candy from extinction. However, Hariboy is not the only one on this quest. A dangerous pirate king and his equally formidable gang of pirates are also behind the recipe. Hariboy must retrieve the copies before they fall into the hands of the pirate king. Apart from time travel, there are several puzzles to solve along the way. The game spans over 250 different locations in three time periods. Promotional mascots of Haribo candy are encountered very frequently during the game. The game has been beautifully designed with SVGA graphics and an extensive color palette. The architecture and background for the different time periods have been accurately depicted. The puzzles are fun and entertaining and offer a lot of variety. Hariboy's Quest is one of the superior promotional games of all time.
