Description
Genocide (1996), developed and published by indie team PyroSoft, is an obscure turn-based 3D artillery strategy game for MS-DOS. Up to four
players (human or AI-controlled) command armored tanks placed across a 3D grid-based landscape. The goal is to be the last tank standing.
On each turn, players adjust their tank's firing parameters—selecting weapon type, bearing (azimuth/direction), power, and pitch angle—to arc
missiles over terrain obstructions and land direct hits on enemy tanks. The game renders terrain in isometric 3D grid view. Players can rotate
and control the camera perspective to judge elevations, distance, and line-of-sight. Unlike 2D artillery titles that offered explicit trajectory
overlay dials, Genocide relies heavily on manual spatial judgment across three axes, making precise targeting significantly more challenging.
