Captain Spleen

Captain Spleen is an action and adventure game with Sci-Fi and futuristic themes. It was developed and published by Colin Gagnon Software in 1996. The graphics of the game have been designed to give the characters a comical appearance and the narrative is quite humorous. Captain Speen is one of the most played DOS games.
The Protagonist of the game is Captain Spleen who owes money to a Mister pointy head. Pointy Head is now threatening to beat up Captain Spleen if he is unable to repay the money in the next few days. Finding no other way, Captain Spleen embarks on a journey into space and travels from Planet to planet trying to acquire more money. In his journey, Captain Spleen encounters several interesting characters and faces many challenges in the form of space invaders and unscrupulous elements who try to steal his spaceship.
There are a total of seven destinations to choose from and the player controls the speed of the spaceship. Information about the cargo and weapons system is also available to the player. The journey begins at McScooty’s fast food joint where Captain Spleen chooses his big meal before embarking on the journey. The game has a set of predetermined commands, and the player can choose from the list of commands using the keyboard. The game introduces several interesting sub-plots and characters along the way and their significance is revealed as the game progresses. The success of the mission depends on making good judgments in times of crisis and effective communication with other space beings. The game can be saved and continued later. Captain Spleen was followed by Captain Spleen 2 in 1997.
