Buzz Aldrin's Race into Space was created by Strategic Visions, Inc. It was released in the year 1993. It runs on Microsoft DOS and PC-98.
You start as the Director of a space program based in America or Russia. The game is surprisingly very subtle and an in-depth game. From training astronauts to deciding which space mission to launch, this game is quite challenging and exciting to play.
A certain amount of money is allotted at the beginning of the year to you. The game starts during the space flight era, the astronauts have to be trained before any space mission is commenced. You are given the chance to either send highly trained astronauts or less trained astronauts. Sending astronaut who’s training is not proper can increase the chances of sending your probe into deep space or falling into the Pacific ocean. The benefit is that if the mission succeeds, then you will gain time against the rival nation.
Relive the Apollo missions and Soviet Space Program
You get the chance to command the epic Apollo missions and the Soviet Space Program. The historical game mode lets avail of this chance. The other mode, known as the “Basic Mode”, makes both the teams equal in all grounds.
This game is very diverse. Even in Easy mode, there is a possibility that the rival team might land on earth’s one and only satellite before you. You will have to recruit Astronauts, buy space vehicle parts, please the president of the USA or Russia with space mission photographs to increase the budget and a lot of more things.
