Originally, the company was named Software Entertainment Company, which was started by Jeff Tunnell and Damon Slye, two graduates from the University of Oregon. The games weren't making enough money to keep Dynamix going, and in August 1990 the company was sold to Sierra On-Line.

Description
Adventures of Willy Beamish is a graphic adventure game that is fun and interactive. In the game, you will play the role of Willy Beamish an 8 years old child that is determined to have fun in spite of all the grown-up people who prove difficult by coming up with obstacles like making him go to school and clean and do chores around the house.
In the Adventures of Willy Beamish, summer vacation has begun and you as Willy are determined to have fun during this time. You will be entering your frog in the frog jumping contest in the game. Willy always gets into trouble with the adults. Your challenge is to get him out of it. You need to help him get through his days without the loss of the money he gets for lunch. As you can imagine, it is a huge chore to deal with spoilt sisters, the vampire-like babysitter, mom and dad and the teachers. Every puzzle helps you as Willy to progress forward and keep from getting the horrible punishment of getting grounded. In the game, there is a status bar that shows how cross Willy's parents are with him. Everytime he gets in trouble the parents get more and more cross with him till when the bar gets full. This means you have lost and Willy gets sent to the military camp school. You have to work hard to make sure that you stop making your parents angry.
