The Hidden Below

The Hidden Below is an action game with a horror Sci-Fi theme. It was developed and published by Soft Enterprises GmbH in 1994. The game was released in Germany and had very little distribution in the international market. The game language is German. The Hidden Below used a custom-built engine called VR-6, which was superior compared to the ones used in other games of the time. In The Hidden Below, the player is tasked with hunting down a group of evil aliens and sending them back to their home planet.
The player takes control of a detective who comes across these gigantic aliens while investigating a case of industrial espionage. The factory in question is located in a secluded spot in the middle of a desert. To vanquish these aliens, The player has, at their disposal, 14 different weapon systems and advanced equipment including infrared lights, image identifiers, automatic target detection systems, teleporters, and switches. He is also aided by controllable security cameras, angled walls, and several resolutions giving him a 360-degree view of the location. There are 20 levels in the game, each with a different design and layout.
The game also offers high-quality sound effects with 16-bit surround sound and dynamic music that plays throughout the game. The game has three different settings for sound effects. The player gets a first-person perspective with a three-dimensional view. To win, the player has to defeat around 40 bosses and mini-bosses that appear at each level, each with different powers.
The game has an 'adult mode' which has added death animations and gory scenes, which is available to audiences through a patch.
