Gremlin was founded in 1984 by Ian Stewart, Sales and Marketing Director, and Kevin Norburn, the Financial Director. They originally opened a computer shop in Carver Street, Sheffield, called Just Micro. From there they branched out into a software house. Tony Crowther, already well known for a few Commodore programs was made a company director. Geoff Brown, of US Gold and who had just started Centresoft, was invited to become Managing Director.

Description

For eons, the outer space and the alien world has excited the curiosity of people with various theories drawn by scientists. Space Crusade just takes this curiosity a notch higher with its excellent gameplay and conceptualization of yet another alien attack on the world. If you consider this to be one easy game like others, then do tighten your seat belts and wear the safety gears, as this a tough game to beat. The plot is usual as other space boardgames wherein the marine ship has been attacked by an alien invasion. The player in the role of a commander is required to rescue the space marine squad. The game can be played in 1 to 3 player mode. The commander is of the highest rank in the squad. A note to remember, higher the rank of the commander, more points can be gained by the player. Here the AI acts from the side of Alien. The commanders are required to give orders for carrying more equipment and hitting the Aliens on board to rescue their ship successfully. Space Crusade can be played in 2-D or in 3-D mode (If you want to gain a closer look at the Aliens). The players are required to be shrewd and use their intellect to track each level competently. Combined with excellent graphics and a mind grabbing plot, this game will surely raise the level of adrenaline only to emerge victoriously.
