The geopolitical simulation game, Shadow President is an old DOS video game which was released in the year 1993.
The game consists of science-fiction and cyberpunk elements. The single player video game talks about politics, government, cause, control, and effects. In the game, the player plays the role of the President of the United States. Like the president, the player needs to fulfill the duties of the president and take care of his nation. His task is to maintain peace and serenity across the nation.
The challenging role of the US president
As the game Shadow President begins, the player gets elected as the newly elected President of the United States. As the newly elected president, the player needs to handle several issues, resolve a number of crises, avoid wars in the zones of conflict, and send military, social and technology aids to those who require it. He needs to look after the peace and prosperity of the nation. Along with this, the player needs to earn positive ratings by the citizens of the US so that he gets re-elected in the next elections.
Getting re-elected as the President
The player must earn the trust of the people so that they re-elect him in the next elections. Getting re-elected is a very important part of the game.
During the year in which the elections are going to take place, the player cannot access their non-real screen so that the body of bureaucrats can look after the progress. If the efficiency and popularity of the player are satisfactory, he gets re-elected as the President of the US.
However, if the player does not provide a satisfactory service to the people of the US he will not get re-elected which marks the end of the game.
