Description
Regatta (1993) is a niche retro DOS game developed by the Russian game development company Gamos Ltd. (often credited simply as Gamos). Gamos was well known in
the early-to-mid 1990s PC gaming scene for creating highly inventive, logic-focused puzzle games and quirky action titles, most famously The Incredible Machine
competitor Filimimonov / Pabst and the iconic puzzle game Color Lines (1992).
Unlike typical racing or sports simulators of the era, Regatta is a unique hybrid of real-time tactics, physics-based puzzle solving, and nautical action.
In Regatta, you control a small sailboat maneuvering through a series of increasingly complex water courses. Rather than focusing on high-speed arcade racing,
the game centers around the real-world mechanics of wind dynamics, inertia, and water navigation.
Your goal in each stage is to navigate your boat from the starting point to the finish line, rounding markers/buoys in the correct sequence while managing wind
vectors and avoiding obstacles.
