Firestorm: The Forest Fire Simulation Program
The video game, Firestorm: The Forest Fire Simulation Program is a simulation game which features fire of the forest.
In the game, the player needs to take command over the air and ground-based forces and fight the fires of the forest in actual time. The game involves strategies and is placed from a top-down perspective. It was originally released for DOS platforms in the year 1995.
How did the forest fire occur?
At the beginning of the game, the player gets a map. The actions occur at the locations on the map. There is a forest coastland in the Northwest region of the game. The coastland consists of hills, mountains, roads, rivers, buildings, lake, and rivers. The player places 5 fires in the forest to learn about the direction of the wind. Eventually, the fire starts to spread across the forest due to the terrain and wind.
Stop the forest fire
When the fire starts to spread, the player needs to stop it using his crew and tankers of air. The player can use the fire crews to cut the lines of fire in the forest, and thus, prevent the propagation of fire. Furthermore, the two tankers of an airdrop the retardants of fire to stop the fire from progressing. The tankers can get out of fuel and the player needs to refill the tanks.
One of the benefits of the game is that the player can keep the simulation on hold and think about the next move. The game is configurable and the player can change the velocity of the crews and units of air, and the speed of fire.
