Blackstar - Agent of Justice
Hint Sheet for Episode 1
Here are step-by-step instructions to walk you through Episode One. Not every puzzle must be completed in order!
Starting in Blackstar's apartment, click on the drawer of the small table to the left of the scene, and you will grab his 'tool' from the drawer. Click on the coffee table. You should now see the equipment on the table. Click on the answering machine and read the messages. Click on the notebook and you will see the names of the people you can call. Call Cam. Pay attention to the conversation between Blackstar and Cam, since he sends you on your first quest - breaking into the locker room at the station house!
Move the cursor to the top of the screen to exit notebook scene. Click on bracelet and it will be added to your inventory. Move the cursor to the left of the scene, and click to exit. You should be at the apartment scene now. You now may leave the apartment. Once in the hall, click in the lower left corner to get to the street. Use the map to go to the Island Shack. You will see a red shape in the bushes. Click on this item. You will now have the 'bag of stones'.
Click near the small building on the island to walk down the pathway. Grab some flowers near the cliff. They will be added to your inventory. Walk back up the pathway. Use the map to go back to the your apartment. Click on the garbage can and you will get the 'Can of Death'. Click on the door to your building and enter the hallway. Click on Door 69. Jisel will answer and invite you in. Talk to her and give her the flowers you picked. She will provide you with information.
Leave Jisel's apartment and exit hallway to go back to the streets. Use the bracelet on the hooker. Talk to her. She will provide more information. Use the map and go to the graveyard. Use the 'Can of Death' on the spider in the tree. The spider will die. Click on the glove attached to the shovel. You will now have the glove. Use the map to leave the graveyard.
Head to the Lone Wolf Bar. Enter the bar. Talk to woman sitting alone. Talk to the bartender. Discuss 'weapons' and you will now have the crowbar. You can get the 'bar rag' off the bar, but it serves no purpose in this game. Leave the bar. Use the map and go to the subway. Use the crowbar on the punk. After knocking him out, you will steal his $100. Use the map to exit the subway.
Go to the Police Station. Use the glove on the bush next to the locker door. You will get the key to the locker room. Use the key on the door to enter the locker room. Click on the bulletin board and read the messages. Leave the bulletin board scene. Use 'your tool' on the locker with the lock on it. You will find a floppy disk and a note. Once you are finished reading the note, leave the locker room.
Go back to your apartment. Click on the coffee table. Look at the notebook. Call Cam again. Discuss the disk and he will tell you to meet him at the station house. Leave your apartment and go the Police Station. Cam will be standing near the tree. Talk to him about the disk. You realize you need a computer to view the disk. Pay attention to the reference to your friend Prey.
Use the map and go to the Computer Store. You will find it closed for the evening. The alarm has been set for the night. Head back to your apartment and click on the coffee table. Look at the notebook. Call Prey. He will be paged and will meet you at Staulker Park. Leave your apartment and use the map to go to the park.
Talk to Prey. Tell him you want the Alarm Disabler. Use the $100 on Prey and he will give you the Alarm Disabler. Use the map to go to the Computer Store. Use the Alarm Disabler on the door of the Computer Store and you will be able to enter the closed store. Once inside, use the 'bag of stones' on the glass cabinet holding the laptop computers. You will break the glass, take a computer, and leave the store.
Go back to your apartment for privacy. Use the computer on the wall plug. The machine should now be on the floor near the plug. Use the floppy disk on the computer. You will view the disk.
That's it! Episode One completed!
Hint Sheet - Game 2
The following are step-by-step instructions to walk you through Episode Two.
Not every puzzle must be completed in order!
After viewing the floppy disk and watching your mother's death, you must
find the evil man who committed such a horrible act.
Starting in Blackstar's apartment, click on the drawer of the small table to
the left of the scene, and you will grab his 'tool' from the drawer.
The laptop computer will be sitting on the floor. Click on it and you will
pick it up. Click on the plant to the right of the couch and you will get
the 'joints' which were hidden there.
Click on the coffee table. You should now see the equipment on the table.
Click on the answering machine and read the messages. Click on the notebook
and you will see the names of the people you can call. Call Cam. Pay attention
to the conversation between Blackstar and Cam, since he gets called away during
the conversation. He tells you to find the message he will leave on the bulletin
board within the locker room of the police station. Call Prey. He tells you to
meet him at the strip joint. Leave the apartment.
In the hall, move the cursor to the far right edge of the screen, and click
to continue walking down the hall. Click on the door to the roof. Once on the
roof, click on the hacksaw in the corner to pick it up. Leave the roof. Walk
back down the hall. Click in the lower left corner to leave the building.
Go to the police station by using the map. Enter the locker room. Look at the
bulletin board and read the messages. Behind one of them is a hidden message
from Cam. It will warn you about Safe Harbor, Inc. You will get caught by an
officer. Talk to him. Once he knows Cam sent you, he will give you a reel-to-reel
tape that Cam wants you to have. Leave the locker room.
Use the map and go to the strip joint. Talk to both hookers for information.
Use the 'joints' on the bouncer and he will let you enter. Prey will be at the
bar. Talk to him. Use the laptop computer on Prey and he will give you $100.
You ask him for the floppy disk back before he takes the machine. Leave the bar.
Use the map and go to the computer store. Enter the store and use the floppy
on the man working behind the counter. You ask him if he can read the
encrypted message on the disk. He shows it to you. Read the message on the disk
and get another clue about Safe Harbor, Inc. You ask him to destroy the disk.
Leave the computer store.
Go to Gearhead's Music Store by using the map and heading to your apartment
scene. Talk to the hooker for information. Enter Gearhead's. Talk to Mike.
Use the reel-to-reel tape on Mike and he will play it for you. Listen to the
recording and get another clue. You ask Mike to erase the tape. Leave the
music store and go back to the strip joint. Enter the bar.
Talk to the bartender for information. Walk to the back room and talk to
Robyn. She will tell you to bring her a present for some information about
Safe Harbor, Inc. Leave the bar.
Use the map and go back to your apartment. Knock on Jisel's door. She is not
home. Use 'your tool' on her door and enter the apartment. Take the mirror
on the couch. Leave the apartment. Use map and go to strip joint. Enter the
bar. Walk to the back room. Use the mirror on Robyn and she will tell you more
information about Safe Harbor, Inc. Leave the strip joint.
Use the map and head to Staulker Park. Talk to the old man who is using the
binoculars. Give him the $100 for the binoculars. Click on the viewfinder.
Check out the different windows and either laugh or be offended!
Using the map, go to the island shack. Towards the right of the screen, you
will find an opening in the bushes to walk through. It leads to the indian's
village. Enter the main tent to the left. Talk to everyone. Get part of a photo
of your parents from Sacred Bear. Learn more about your parents and their fate.
Leave the tent and exit the village to the right.
Use the map and head back to your apartment. Once inside your place, click
on the lightswitch to turn of the lights. Use the binoculars on the window
and watch the scene play out. Turn on the lights and leave your apartment.
Knock on Jisel's door. She will invite you in. Talk to her about Safe Harbor,
Inc. Jisel will call so you can be introduced to the owner. Leave her
Use the map and go to Safe Harbor, Inc. Knock on the door. You will meet
the owner. Once in his office, talk to him. You will threaten him eventually.
Once back on the sidewalk, use the map and go back to your apartment. Knock
on Jisel's door. Nobody's home. Use 'your tool' on the door to enter. You will
discover Jisel dead. You leave the scene quickly. Exit the building.
Go back to Safe Harbor, Inc. by using the map. Click on the far left of the
screen. You will go around the side of the building. Use the hacksaw on the
lower right window. You will enter the basement.
Use the stairs to leave the basement. On the main floor, go upstairs. Enter
the door to the left. In the office, open the lower drawer of the file cabinet.
You will find the other 'half-photo' of your parents. You leave it there. Press
the lower portion of the photo on the left wall. A secret compartment will open
in the books. Get the sceptre hidden there. Leave the office and head back to
Once in the basement, use the sceptre on the hole in the wall near the tools.
A trap door opens in the floor. Walk down the hole and enter the crypt. You
will be in the room where your mother was killed. Get the necklace off the
floor. Leave the crypt either to the left (basement) or the right (graveyard).
From the basement, exit through the window. From the graveyard, walk back to the
entrance. Use the map from either place and head to the island shack. Walk
through the woods to the indian village. Enter the main tent. Use the necklace
on Sacred Bear. She will tell you that it was your mother's necklace. You now
have proof that the Safe Harber owner was the killer. Leave the tent and exit
the village scene.
Use the map and head to the Lone Wolf Bar. Talk to Dark Wolf for information.
Get the carton of smokes off the bar. Talk to the woman seated in the back.
Leave the bar and head back to your apartment.
Once inside your place, click on the coffee table and then the notebook. Call
Prey. Tell him to meet you at the subway. Leave the apartment. Use the map to
go to the subway. Talk to Prey. He will tell you about his special friend, The
Vet. Use the carton of smokes on Prey. He gives you the magnetic card to
enter the shack on the island. Leave the subway.
Use the map and go to the island shack. Walk down the path to the island. Use
the magnetic card on the statue. The door will open and you enter the shack.
Talk to The Vet. He tells you about your new weapon ... rabies! Get the virus
in the syringe. Leave the shack. He asks for the magnetic card back first.
Walk up the pathway and use the map to go back to Safe Harbor, Inc. Walk around
the side and enter the basement. Go all the way upstairs. Enter the door to the
right. The Safe Harbor owner is sleeping. Use the virus on him.
That's it! You inflict a slow, painful death on the scum that killed your parents.
Mel Odius Goes Six String Searchin' - Hint Sheet
Walk to the scene with the beach-fence and the fountain. Type LOOK FOUNTAIN. In the close-up scene, type GET CHANGE. Walk to the grocery store and type OPEN GROCERY. Once inside, type LOOK PAPER and write down the phone number because you will not see it again.
Walk to the Snobbery and type OPEN SNOBBERY. In the hall. type DIAL 555-0666. You will get a dime back from the phone. Write down IT'S MEL so you do not forget it. Walk to apartment and type LOOK BUZZER. In the buzzer close-up, type IT'S MEL. Ask Howie all five lines you are given. He will give you a card with Phil's name on it when you ask him about where he got his guitar.
Walk to Music World and type OPEN MUSIC. Once inside, ask the manager about the flyer and type GIVE CARD. He will give you a flyer to gain entrance to Psycho's bar. Walk to the Snobbery and type OPEN SNOBBERY. In the
hall, type WALK BATHROOM. In the bathroom, type GET PAPERTOWEL. Go into the stall and type USE PAPERTOWEL. You now have the note.
Walk to restaurant and type OPEN RESTAURANT. Once inside, type WINK HELGA and Helga will give you the free burger. Type TALK MAN and you will go to a close-up of Hugh. Use all the lines you are given to talk to him and then type GIVE BURGER. He gives you his Snobbadge and now you can leave.
Walk to the Snobbery and type OPEN SNOBBERY. In the hall type WALK BAR. Inside the room type WALK BAR. At the bar close-up, type USE SNOBBADGE and you will get a dart.
Leave the bar area and you will be back in the Snobbery's main room. Type GIVE DART and you will be asked to whom? Type TO WOMAN and you will see a close-up of Rachel. Ask her the line about fake ID's and she will tell you to say RACHEL SENT ME when you try to buzz AL Cohol at the apartment. Remember to write that down.
Walk to the beach-fence scene and try to open the garbage cans. You will be asked which one. Type OPEN SMALL and you will see the inside of the can. Type GET EMPTY-BOTTLE and then leave. In the same beach-fence scene, type LOOK FOUNTAIN. At the fountain close-up, type FILL EMPTY-BOTTLE. Walk to apartment scene and type TALK BUM. In the close-up, type GIVE FULL-BOTTLE and you will get the bottle of whiskey. Leave the close-up of the bum and you should be outside the apartment. Type LOOK BUZZER and at the buzzer close-up type RACHEL SENT ME.
Inside Al's apartment type GIVE WHISKEY and you will get the fake ID. Leave apartment and walk to bank. Type LOOK CASH MACHINE and at the close-up type GET CASH. Walk to scene with Phil's Used Goods store and type USE CASH. The man in the corner will sell you the handcuffs.
Walk to Psycho's and type OPEN DOOR. At the door close-up, type USE FLYER. Once inside, type WALK BAR. At the bar scene, type USE HANDCUFFS. In the close-up of the bartender, ask the line about getting a smoke and he'll give you a cigarette, then leave.
Walk to the Belcher's Inn and type OPEN BELCHERS. In the hall. type USE ID to get past the bouncer. Once inside, type TALK LEROY. In the close-up, type GOT ANY to get some matches. Exit back to the main room of the bar and type TALK WOMAN. In the close-up of Jasmine, ask her all the lines you are given and then type GIVE CIGARETTE. She will give you the key to the lock on the beach gate.
Walk to beach-fence scene and type USE KEY. You take the lock so you can enter from now on. On the beach, type OPEN CASTLE and you will see that there is beer inside. Type GET BEER and leave scene.
Walk to apartment scene and type TALK BUM. Type GIVE BEER and he will give you the violin-bow. Walk back to the beach again and type WALK SHACK. At the shack door, type OPEN WINDOW. Type USE ViOLIN BOW to keep the window open. Inside the shack type GET WIRECUTTERS and leave the beach. Walk to motel and type OPEN MOTEL. Once inside, type GET PAPERCLIP.
Walk to Phil's Used Goods scene, not the scene with the man but the scene with the barricade. Type USE WIRECUTTERS to cut alarm and you will get a piece of wire. Type USE PAPERCLIP and you will pick the lock. The room is dark. Type USE MATCHES and the room will lighten.
You will see your guitar against the wall. Type GET GUITAR and you will win the game!
