Aldo's Assault

The object of the game is get to the treasure chest.
When you get to the treasure chest before time expires, the remaining time is added to your score. Picking up prizes along the way adds to your remaining time.
Cursor Keys - to run and climb
Space Bar - to jump
ESC - to leave the game immediately
Pause {NumLock} - to suspend action until any key is pressed.
Slow Motion. If things suddenly seem to go into slow motion, your processor ins't fast enough to update all eight barrels during vertical retrace.
Try invoking the game like this:
>aldo3 6
to limit the number of barrels to 6 {minimum is 4}.
A key technique in this game is 'jumping to a higher level'. You won't get far or have much fun if you don't learn how to do it.
An easy way to start doing it is to jump onto ladders. Run toward a ladder, and before touching it, suddenly jump. You will continue across in front of the ladder and land on the ramp IF YOU CONTINUE TO HOLD DOWN THE ARROW KEY.
But, while you are doing this jump, release the arrow key when Aldo is on the ladder, and he will land ON the ladder. This is 'jumping to a higher level'. You can jump onto ladders, walls, inclined ramps, and in some cases, titles. When you're really good at it you'll take a lot of shortcuts in Long Island {in Aldo's Adventure}. The technique should also be used to jump off a ladder onto the higher ramp.
